I was delighted when Rebecca approached me back in June of 2024 to ask if I would make a bespoke wedding outfit for her. It was a such a treat to create a beautiful dress for her.
Rebecca looked absolutely beautiful on her special day I was overjoyed when Rebecca approached me to create a bespoke dress for her wedding day. Rebecca @rebeccarumsamart and Chris wanted to align their wedding day with their passion for local and eco minded makers.
After discussing Rebecca's ideas and exploring a selection of natural fibre options, Rebecca chose natural raw silk as she liked the eco properties of the fabric but also the feel against her skin. A great choice for a winter wedding.
The high waisted style, with beautiful rouleau loop and pearl button detail worked wonderfully in raw silk. I made the bespoke pattern based on Rebecca's measurements. We had an initial fitting with a calico toile before cutting the silk. This is a necessary part of the process as it is the opportunity to change anything that isn't working or tweak the fit / length etc.
Rebecca and Chris's wedding is a great example of supporting local makers. Chris wore @hebtroco Yorkshire. Bouquet by @millydaveyflowers Crawshawbooth. Rebecca’s love for local and sustainable makers shines through in her wedding, where every detail, even the confetti, embodies true sustainability.
From the very beginning, we dove into a world of creativity, exploring ideas, shapes, sleeves, buttons and different lengths! Through several fittings, I created a flawless fit that truly celebrated Rebecca's unique style.
