DOROTHY | shirt dress | cotton

A button through shirt dress with large front patch pockets and side seam pockets to the skirt. Made in a variety of cottons including this woven check. The sleeves are bracelet length and finish with a buttoned cuff.  This dress comes in two lengths to finish mid calf with a deep hem or longer length finishes at lower calf/above ankle. Please see garment measurement chart for lengths for each size.

Model is a size 10 wearing a size 2. I am a size  12/14 and wearing a size 3

1. UK 6-8     Bust 82cm.  Waist 64cm.   Hips 86cm
2. UK 10-12. Bust 91cm.   Waist 74cm.   Hips 99cm
3. UK 14-16. Bust 100cm  Waist 84cm.   Hips 109cm
4. UK 18-20. Bust 110cm   Waist 94cm.   Hips 117cm
5. UK 22-24. Bust 122cm. Waist 106cm. Hips 127cm

If you are in between sizes you can size up or down depending on whether you prefer a slim or loose fit. I am always happy to adjust designs to create the best fit for you. 

Available in 100% cotton   or  cotton / hemp blend

Cool wash and shake out, hang to dry naturally, medium iron as required.  

It is a  2-3  week schedule from order to dispatch.

The Story 

Dorothy is named after  my mum who was  little sister to Joan and Molly. She was brought up during WW2 and like many of that generation, make do and mend became part of their life. Her philosophy was buy good quality and it will last.  She always invested in good quality clothes and shoes that would work hard for many years. Only a practical shirt dress could be a Dorothy dress. If it wasn’t practical, useful and made to last she wouldn’t entertain it.
