DESCRIPTION

Crafted from a  vintage inspired  organic cotton, featuring a one inch check woven on an off white base that evokes timeless elegance.  This structured dress has a lovely cotton ricrac trim.  The long sleeve version has bracelet length sleeves that finish with a  buttoned cuff.

Each garments is made to order, with no stock. Each piece is crafted especially for you. It is a  2-3  week schedule from order to dispatch.

THE STORY 

Dorothy is named after  my mum who was  little sister to Joan and Molly. She was brought up during WW2 and like many of that generation, make do and mend became part of their life. Her philosophy was buy good quality and it will last.  She always invested in good quality clothes and shoes that would work hard for many years. Only a practical shirt dress could be a Dorothy dress. If it wasn’t practical, useful and made to last she wouldn’t entertain it.

Sustainability & Ethics

We only cut garments once an order has been placed. Our off-cuts are repurposed to make accessories.

All our materials are made from natural fibres.  

We design, make patterns, samples  and your garments  in house.  

Every Withnell garment comes with a repair kit to maintain your garment for longer.

We offer repairs for trickier jobs.
