Designed to celebrate wool woven locally. 

Handcrafted softly tailored wool jacket, designed and made in Lancashire.

Cut from 100% wool dyed and woven just one hour from our studio.  Clough has gentle shaping, designed to skim the body.  Front buttons are hand covered in the same cloth, the two piece  sleeve creates structure supported by hand made subtle shoulder pads. A curved collar is  perfect for framing your face.  

Fabric - Made in Yorkshire by Abraham Moon  - a soft shetland twill weave with in a textured charcoal colour .

Fit

A relaxed fit through the body with gentle shaping at the sides.  Designed to skim rather than cling.

Dorothy is a size 10 and wears  a Withnell  size 2 (10-12).  True to size with plenty ease for comfort.

Made using carefully selected 100%  wool chosen for its soft handle, durability and drape.  Lined using a 100% cotton poplin.

A personal process

Our  handcrafted one by one process takes 3-4  weeks from order to completion. Each jacket is meticulously cut and sewn by hand with dedicated attention to detail, ensuring a truly personal experience. We can also include any custom length changes. We invite you to embrace this thoughtful approach and enjoy wearing our  timeless pieces for years to come.

The story 

Clough is an amalgamation of  subliminal ideas. A jacket reminiscent of images of my grandad mixed with rounded and flared shapes that surround me. Particularly Rattan Clough,  a visible abandoned farm on the moors that is surrounded by softly rounded hills and cuts where a meandering brook runs through.

Where possible, I choose materials made in the UK and Ireland, or source through long-established UK merchants. For the things that can't be found closer to home, I work with trusted suppliers who share information about where and how their materials are made.

I believe you should know what goes into your clothes. Every Withnell garment comes with its own recipe, listing the materials used, where I sourced them and where they were made.
