DESCRIPTION

A versatile dress for everyday. Crafted from the softest sanded cotton twill. A hardwearing fabric that is soft and durable.   The sleeves are bracelet length and finish with a  buttoned cuff.  Available in two lengths to finish mid calf with a deep hem or longer length finishes at low calf. Please see garment measurement chart for lengths for each size.

  • Gathered skirts add gentle volume and softness, ensuring a relaxed and comfortable fit.
  • Side-seam pockets for a functional yet discreet detail.
  • Falls at low calf making it perfect for styling.

Each garments is made to order, with no stock. Each piece is crafted especially for you. It is a  2-3  week schedule from order to dispatch.

THE STORY 

Dorothy is named after  my mum who was  little sister to Joan and Molly. She was brought up during WW2 and like many of that generation, make do and mend became part of their life. Her philosophy was buy good quality and it will last.  She always invested in good quality clothes and shoes that would work hard for many years. Only a practical shirt dress could be a Dorothy dress. If it wasn’t practical, useful and made to last she wouldn’t entertain it.

Sustainability & Ethics

We only cut garments once an order has been placed. Our off-cuts are repurposed to make accessories.

All our materials are made from natural fibres.  

We design, make patterns, samples  and your garments  in house.  

Every Withnell garment comes with a repair kit to maintain your garment for longer.

We offer repairs for trickier jobs.
